Testimonials

Having been a patient of Dr. Thomas Trezona's for the past eight years I feel confident recommending him and his staff to others who are in need of his unique services combining oncology treatment and surgery. Besides Dr. Trezona's excellent capabilities one has the service of his team of highly skilled, knowledgeable nurses and office personnel. They are unfailingly available to address any questions and concerns with sincere friendliness and compassion.

I had an enlarged lymph node for quite a while before I could get any local doctor to help me figure out what it was. After 3 1/2 months, a local surgeon took it out and it was determined that I had melanoma. That local surgeon got me an appointment with Dr. Trezona. I was seen almost immediately. My first appointment was a Wednesday afternoon and by 6:00 p.m. that night I was having scans. I was so scared about my diagnosis but at the same time I felt so relieved to be somewhere that something was finally happening. After 48 hours I had a full battery of scans, Dr. Trezona discussed my situation with me and I was scheduled for surgery soon after that.

From the moment I entered his office I felt welcomed and felt like people really cared about me. I knew people were trying to help me get better. I felt like this was the place to be and that things would get done here. I was glad all the waiting was over!

I had a major surgery and a lot of recovering to do. I appreciated Dr. Trezona and his straight forward approach. He was very clear about what I should expect and I felt confident in the treatment that I received.

Following my surgery, I had 4 weeks of intensive treatment that meant I came to the office 5 days a week. The nurses and office staff were so kind, and even though I didn't feel good it felt like it was a positive and caring place to be. The nurses were always willing to give personal attention to help take my mind off of the treatment or see how I was feeling. I enjoyed the treatment room setup. It was nice to be able to visit with other patients and share words of encouragement. Because I do not live in the Eugene area I had to stay far from home. Most of the time I had either a family member or friend with me and they were always welcome to sit with me during treatment.

When the intense part of my treatment was done I came in once a month to get my shots and for check up appointments. Sandy was always so helpful to set up my appointments in a convenient way to match my long drive.

I have been done with treatment since May 2006 and I am feeling so great! So far I am cancer free. I appreciate every single minute of my life and all the help I was given to get to this place in life.

Life is good. . .

In December, 2001 I was diagnosed with Colorectal CA. Surgery was performed and no further treatment was recommended. In May, 2005 I had a routine colonoscopy and the doctor had routine blood work done. The CEA (liver cancer marker) was elevated. I was referred to Dr. Trezona for surgery and chemo treatments. A malignant tumor was removed by oblation and a Medtronic pump placed with a catheter delivering chemo directly into the tumor. The MD's in our family, were amazed Dr. Trezona was using such advanced procedures since they thought this was being done only by teaching hospitals.

During the past year my wife and I have had many hard months but Dr. Trezona and his staff have held our hands, given many hugs, and seen us through it all. By every one of the people working there, from the receptionist, the bookkeeper, the billing personnel, the nurses (who work so hard) and Dr. T, we feel very much loved and cared for.

There are no more tumors seen on the scans performed routinely, but I am still going every other week for preventive therapy. For a place that has very ill people daily, we look forward to our social visit with our "friends."

When diagnosed with cancer, I put my life in the heart, mind and hands of my medical team. I've had breast cancer in stage 1, stage 2 and now stage 4, all with different Dr's and medical teams, over a 16 year span of time. My current experience with Cascade Surgical Oncology and Dr. Thomas Trezona has been the best. He is a surgical oncologist, an excellent surgeon and on the cutting edge of everything new. This is very important if you want hope, trust and co-ordination of services.

The atmosphere in the office is peaceful, supportive, warm, friendly and healing. This applies to everyone who works there. I feel listened to, loved and safe.

The mind, body, spirit class taught by Amy Trezona, RN changed me on many different levels. I can take these tools that are now within me to deal with all the stuff that comes from living an active life regardless of circumstances. I am now more spiritually centered and connected to the present.

I recommend Cascade Surgical Oncology as a place of healing to all who desire the best.

Seven months ago I was diagnosed with gastric cancer in Portland, Oregon. I was told this type of cancer was incurable and I had only one year to live. I was devastated.

All I could think about was who would raise and take care of my five month old baby. My husband, who loves me very much, decided to take me to a cancer center in Texas or California. While trying to arrange our trip to California, one of my husband's friends called him and told him that his doctor is the best and we should see him before going anywhere else. My husband set an appointment with Dr T. who chose the correct chemo for me and as a result, I was cancer free after three sessions. Now I am cancer free and my life is going back to normal. Thank you.

DOCTOR T and your WONDERFUL STAFF, we are so grateful and thankful for everything you have done for us. I believe in God and I also believe that God helped me to find you. Doctor T you have saved my life and every single one of your staff has been taking care of me like they are part of my family. Without any exception, all of you not only have been and are taking good care of me, but you all have given me hope and I don't know how to thank you. Since I live so far away from my family, whenever I am around you guys I feel at home and I love you all very much. Thanks Again.

Being told you have cancer can be a life changing experience. But in the capable hands of Dr. Thomas Trezona and his staff, my fears were immediately replaced with optimism, and I was given the confidence that, together, we would be successful in fighting this disease.

Dr. Trezona took the time to thoroughly review all the treatment options available to me. His encouraging and compassionate manner was reassuring and helped calm my fears. His skilled surgical technique allowed me to make a speedy recovery from my operation.

On all my follow-up appointments, Dr. Trezona always took the time to answer my questions and explain my progress. I never felt that I was being rushed so he could get to his next patient.

During the infusion phase of my treatment, his competent and supportive staff helped me maintain the positive attitude that was required for my successful healing. They were always interested in my well being and took the time to reinforce my confidence.

Because of the successful efforts of Dr. Trezona, his staff, my supportive family, and my prayer network, I was destined for a successful outcome.

To anyone facing the need for cancer treatment, I would, without hesitation, recommend Dr. Thomas Trezona and his team.

Dr Trezona was my first oncologist; it was in October 1997 when I first visited his office. Office Manager Kelly was the first person we saw and she was delightful and upbeat, it helped make our first visit very pleasant. Dr. "T" as we call him was very informative and took all the time necessary to explain the type of cancer I had and the treatment options. We learned that it was a rare type known as soft tissue melanoma. He also suggested that it would be OK for us to get a second opinion. His confidence and knowledge was sufficient for us so a second opinion wasn't necessary. He never rushed through an appointment but took his time to explain any new things.

I have referred several friends to him when they found out they had cancer.

In 2004 I found three lumps in my groin. I would have preferred to go direct to Dr T but it doesn't work that way so I went to my HMO doctor. When the results were in they gave me a referral to Dr. T. He did a needle biopsy on two of the lumps and the results showed that my soft tissue melanoma had metastasized. After surgery to remove the involved lymph nodes, I started Leukine shots which will give me a better chance of long term survival. It's been two years now with no return of the cancer.

I'm a cancer survivor now for nine years and want to give credit to Doctor Trezona and his staff at Cascade Surgical Oncology. Our experience with them has been very positive under the circumstances involved.

I was diagnosed with colon cancer and needed a physician. After doing my research, I chose Dr. Trezona at Cascade Surgical Oncology. Not only did I get what I feel is the best Surgical Oncologist in Oregon, but his support staff is second to none. Before I had my surgery, as well as during the follow up, they made me realize his office was not just about the cancer. They embrace their patients as friends, not as victims. The interaction they give on all levels is amazing. His wife, Amy, is even involved and has special gatherings to help with the mind, body, and spirit aspects, which are an integral part of dealing with illness at any level. I would only hope that for anyone's sake, they are able to experience this level of professionalism and true caring from their physician when they go though the healing processes.

Dr. Trezona was very professional in finding and explaining the type of cancer and the care they would provide. The clinic has made it available for us to call anytime day or night with questions or help. When we needed to see other professionals, they were exemplary in getting that arranged. Dr. Trezona and his staff have always made us feel special and have been a tremendous help both emotionally and financially, helping us secure medication and providing help with insurance paper work. We hold Dr. Trezona and his staff in high regard and feel blessed to have them in our corner.
